Education and training in organic principles
Ecodiverse Organic Training Program (EOTP) has developed educational material in the local language Kirundi and French, which has been the basis for the theoretical as well as parctical teaching. International Organic agricultural consultants have been contracted for a period of 2 years, to teach theory and practical implementation of the organic principles, which has resulted in organic certification in 2023.
In collaboration with the local cooperative Bu-Bio, 14 farms in 5 Provinces have been converted and certified as organic farms according to The European Union (EU) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards.

Knowledge that can be adapted to local conditions

Documentation is crucial for organic certification, so new habits such as reporting on daily operations is a discipline that must be adhered to in order to ensure transparency and transparency.
"If teaching materials don't exist in the local language, create them"
