THE ORGANIC DREAM
Ignace von der Recke Kamatari, son of Prince Pascal Kamatari of Burundi and Mimi von der Recke from Denmark, has long been waiting for the opportunity to convert the family farm in Burundi into an organic certified farm and inspire others to follow suit.
A dream that, until recently, had been put on hold due to Burundi's many years of political unrest.
Small changes make a big difference
VISION:
Profitable, humane and environmental development of "Climate-smart" sustainable production of organic products and international training of organic farmers, contributing to economic growth and social development in Burundi.
OBJECTIVES:
To provide international standard training based on the principles of IFOAM; International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement.To develop and produce on own model farm "FOTA FARM" and support local cooperatives in Burundi with the aim of producing and processing organic certified products of the highest quality for own consumption, as well as for local and export markets. To achieve a sustainable business through capacity building in the local community.
