Burundi's first organically certified legumes

After 3 years of intense work based on FOTA FARM, where everything had to be invented and learned from scratch in a country where certified organic farming is not a thing, Ecodiverse managed to get no less than 14 farms in 5 provinces certified.

The first crop that was focused on was the legume dried beans. A crop that is well known in Burundi and therefore not too complicated to introduce as an organic crop.

The beans consist of 5 varieties, of which the well-known kidney and white beans are also included, are packed with vitamins and proteins.

Ecodiverse has ordered 4 tons of the 2023 harvest home to Denmark and from December 2023 it will be available for purchase on our WEBSHOP.
